WREN Upcoming Events
Hello Friends,
As August comes to a close we say good-bye to summer and hello to cooler temps and that back-to-school feeling. Thankfully, we have Labor Day weekend to give the season a proper send-off. WREN is kicking off the long weekend with a block party and a new exhibition — more on that below. But first, stop in to the Gallery at WREN to catch the final week of Nomadic Threads!
Far flung journeys and well-woven inspiration converge in Nomadic Threads, which closes this Sunday, August 29.
Featuring the work of Doug Masury and Doug Weisman, Nomadic Threads travels the soaring expanses of Western Mongolia through a globally rich palette of textiles and photographs.
Photographer Doug Weisman was so moved upon viewing the documentary film The Eagle Huntress that he traveled to Mongolia to photograph the annual Eagle Festival and all its colorful participants.
Self-taught textile artist Doug Masury finds inspiration in traditional weavings from across the globe, then creates his own versions back home in New Hampshire.
As part of the ongoing “Arts at the Adair” initiative, select pieces from Nomadic Threads are also on view through August 29 the sitting room of the Adair Country Inn & Restaurant in Bethlehem.
New Hampshire’s lakes and mountains inspire in Just Be Outdoors. In this exhibition, oils on canvas by contemporary impressionist Linda Gray speak to painterly photographs by Randy Roos.
Just Be Outdoors marries sublime mountaintop vistas with quiet lakeside moments, embodying the natural splendor of New Hampshire.
View Just Be Outdoors at the Gallery at WREN and at the Adair Country Inn & Restaurant from September 3 through October 31, 2021. Join us at WREN on September 3rd for an opening day block party! Details below.

Congrats to WREN’s Executive Director Pam Sullivan for being named one of New Hampshire Magazine’s Women on a Mission!
From NH Magazine:
“More than a year of crisis has created untold need in New Hampshire. The state’s nonprofits — many of them women-led — stepped in to help meet that need, all the while having to navigate the immense obstacles the pandemic posed. Here we spotlight the weighty and wondrous work of some of those women and their organizations.”
