Two Grants accepted for $130k
Quick Monday Meeting
On Monday 4/18 The Lancaster select board met and opened with Department Head updates from Fire, EMS, Police, Library and Parks & Recreation department. After the board heard from the department heads, they opened up a public hearings to accept unanticipated funds.
An unanticipated fund item was the NHDES Asset Management Grant in the amount of $80,000. Also, a second item a Governor’s Office for Emergency Relief & Recovery Locality Equipment Matching Program Grant in the amount of $50,000.00. Both items were opened and available for public comment with no action from the public. The select board voted to accept both grants for the town, and authorized the Town Manager “to sign any and all documents required”
After the public hearings the board accepted the meeting minutes form the 4th. In addition, paperwork was presented to be signed for the Forest Fire Report and the bill to pay the Forest Fire Wardens. Further conversation about crosswalks was brought up and reviewed as well. New business included appointments to the planning board.
Kent Fountain Update
The insurance agency spoke with the Town manager and asked for pricing to replace the fountain. The adjuster felt it was wrecked beyond repair. A price is forthcoming from Barry Normandeau to replace the fountain with the hopes of portions of the old fountain being incorporated. If the old pieces can’t be used in the new fountain, use in different locations within the town was also mentioned. The idea of using it for the Veteran’s Memorial was brought up, but no final use was determined.
Additionally, Selectman Rideout asked about the deductible on the claim would be and $1000 was the number provided. There was small discussion about seeking donations for the amount, but in the end it was dismissed without further action.
