New Selectboard gets underway in Littleton
Selectman begin new session with elementary presentation.
The new session of the Littleton Select board got underway Monday. Newly appointed Selectman Carrie Gendreau joined Sweet and Rossi for the start of the new session. The first order of business of the agenda was organizational duties. Rossi nominated Sweet, with a second from Gendreau as the new Chairperson. Gendreau nominated Rossi with a second from Sweet as vice-chairperson. Both votes passed uncontested.
After the chair assignments, Littleton Chief of Police Paul Smith presented newly hired patrolman Bryce Lineman to be sworn in. Officer Lineman is the new full-time officer for the Littleton Police Department. Bryce grew up in the town of Littleton and he has served in the Coast Guard. More recently he interned with the LPD and has gone to school for criminal justice. Prior to the position with the police department Bryce worked at the Grafton County House of Corrections.
After the swearing-in ceremony, Sue Pilotte made a short presentation on the Littleton Dog Park. She discussed the recent accomplishments of the Lakeway Elementary Destination Imagination team. The team took on a civic-based challenge for their competition and created a skit to help raise money for the soon to be developed dog park. The group raised over $600 for their community. The students performed their entire skit for the Select board.
Once the DI team finished their presentation and skit, the Board welcomed Brien Ward for a presentation on the economic status of Littleton. Mr. Ward went through a storied history of Littleton through the past 25 years recalling certain influential families and businesses that have helped establish Littleton.s
