Moose, Marten, and More
Free Program at Bretzfelder Park
The Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests and Doug Morin, Wildlife Biologist with Vermont Fish and Wildlife will present “Moose, marten, and more – how a changing climate might affect northern wildlife in Vermont” at Bretzfelder Park, on February 27.
The free program is part of the annual winter Bretzfelder Park Family Educational Series. It is open to the public and will begin at 7 p.m.
Morin will provide an overview of some of the region’s northern wildlife including moose, American marten, and boreal birds. He will discuss how their different adaptations may lead to different futures for these iconic animals in the face of a changing climate, land use patterns, and other human impacts.
Doug Morin
Morin is a Wildlife Biologist with the Department of Fish and Wildlife, covering the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. He holds an M.S. in Natural Resources from the University of Vermont. He grew up in New Hampshire and still spends much of his time exploring the Granite State.

Two series of educational programs are held there each year, in August and February. The Bretzfelder Park Family Educational Series will continue on March 6 with Michael Bruno presenting “Cruising New Hampshire History”.
