Our Hometown comes to Littleton
NH PBS television series “Our Hometown” is filming in Littleton this spring.
Our Hometown, the storyteller series from Director/Producer Schuyler Scribner, shares the stories of NH towns through the townsfolk themselves. Unlike other documentary style shows which narrate the stories, Our Hometown focuses on the citizens and asks them to tell their own stories.
The website displays the tag line “No one knows your hometown like you.” and goes on to state that “The premise of NHPBS’s award-winning Our Hometown series is that each New Hampshire town and city has a unique story to tell, and the people who live there are ideal storytellers for their hometowns.” The episodes share a variety of stories centered around the history, culture, tragedy and economics of New Hampshire. With nearly 240 towns and cities within the state, there are countless stories to be told. Our Hometown sets out to discover, learn about, and then share those stories with its viewers.
Spring filming event April/May
Late in 2017, Schuyler Scribner contacted LATV. The producer shared the plans to film Littleton in 2018 and the process of organizing support for the show began. With the help of local businesses, individuals and the Littleton Area Chamber of Commerce, a series of “connectors” were identified. These were individuals that either had stories to tell, or knew of individuals with stories to share. Word was sent out to a variety of individuals to help share in the event and make time to speak with the show creators. A filming schedule has been established for two upcoming weekends; April 26th – 29th, and May 3rd – 6th . The final locations for filming are still being reviewed and determined. However, NH PBS will host a series of 45 minute interviews at these locations starting on Thursday, April 26th.
