25th Economic Development Celebration
The Littleton Area Chamber of Commerce hosted their 25th Annual “Economic Development Celebration” at the Littleton Opera House on Monday Evening. The building was filled with a variety of business and industry individuals to celebrate the town’s, and its surrounding communities, economic successes.
Early in the evening, Jeff Cozzens, of Shilling’s Beer Company, was awarded the 2017 Raymond S. Burton Business Leader of the Year Award for his dedication and economic contribution to the town of Littleton. Brien Ward followed the award presentation with a break down of the economic advances the town had experienced through the 25 year journey of the celebration event.
The big presentation of the evening came from Bob Copenhaver and the Littleton Industrial Development Corporation in the form of a video highlighting some of the successes and benefits the Industrial Park has provided Littleton and the surrounding towns. The employment and career opportunties, job growth, business advancement and regional economic upswing the park provides Littleton anf the region was showcased. This past year alone (2016) the Park’s business tenants helped to offset the towns tax base by roughly $4M dollars. The strength of the commitment from LIDC to the Industrial Park, and the Town of Littleton were the key focuses of the video.
